Mentor Monthly Spotlight
Raised to be humble, Scott Berkey often deflects praise, yet his impact on the couples he serves at RETA is undeniable. Answering the call to mentor couples, he teaches that love is expressed through sacrifice. Scott reminds them that conflict is never one-sided and invites each partner to approach it with openness and a spirit of selflessness. Scott often tells his couples, “If you love your children enough that you would die for them, then why wouldn’t you love them enough to create an environment built on love and respect?” Scott appreciates RETA for the way it makes him feel valued and allows him to lead with faith while fostering genuine relationships. One moment that stands out to him is a couple who had grown distant from the church because of childhood experiences. Scott and his wife, Laura, invited them to their church and now care for their children, so the couple can attend a class together to learn about the church’s doctrine. This is just one of many examples of how Scott makes a difference not only in this life but in the life to come.
Scott, it is impossible not to compliment you and tell you how invaluable you are!
